Board Membership Application

Dear Potential Board Member:

Thank you for your interest in the Kenora Sexual Assault Centre (KSAC) Board of Directors. KSAC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

These community members are committed to advancing the mission and vision of the organization. The Board members are a valuable resource to KSAC by lending their expertise and skills to the Centre and the community as a whole. The Board is responsible for setting strategic direction and advising the leadership team on legal, financial and managerial matters. All volunteers must complete police records check for working with the vulnerable sector that is no more than 2 years old, a screening interview, and training sessions. KSAC can provide a letter to allow you to obtain your police records check free of charge.

The Board of Directors meets once a month in the evening, usually at 5:15 on a date that works for the Board Members (i.e. every third Monday). Various working groups require a more diverse meeting commitment. Length of terms for the board commitment are one, two- or three-year term. The expectation is that you will attend all board meetings and if you are not able to attend that you will send your regrets within 48 hours of meeting.

Please fill out the application form on the website and it will be sent to the Executive Director. We will accept applications at any point during the year. Once your application is received it will be reviewed and you will be notified as to what the next steps will be. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at 807-468-7958.

Sincerely,

Evelyn Larsen

Executive Director Kenora Sexual Assault Centre
